This historic 12-acre saltwater farm along Spruce Creek on Haley Road is protected from further development. The old farmhouse and barn frame a rolling landscape of mowed fields and a large pond.
A four acre easement on Cutts Island donated to KLT in 1999 which enhances the views for the shoreline from Seaport Beach. This parcel features a transition of upload grass field to salt marsh vegetation beyond a stone berm. The extent and species composition of the salt-tolerant plant appears to be expanding and increasing, a possible indicator of sea-level rise. This is a great example of conservation land supporting science.
