Forest community ecology: Implications for forest conservation. UNH Professor, Tom Lee.
Ecological principles, especially those involving forest stand development and succession, provide a foundation for managing conserved forest land. Forests, however, can be managed sustainably in different ways and the approaches taken depend on the outcomes desired by owners and managers. Stewardship of conserved forest land must also consider future changes in native and invasive species and, of course, climate.
