Forest community ecology: Implications for forest conservation. UNH Professor, Tom Lee.

Ecological principles, especially those involving forest stand development and succession, provide a foundation for managing conserved forest land. Forests, however, can be managed sustainably in different ways and the approaches taken depend on the outcomes desired by owners and managers. Stewardship of conserved forest land must also consider future changes in native and invasive species and, of course, climate.

Open to all – 5pm-6pm – Kittery Community Center Room 132

Kittery Land Trust hosts Conservation Conversations the first Monday of the Month from 5:00-6:00pm. The public is invited to stay afterwards for KLT’s monthly Stewardship Committee meeting to learn more about current issues and topics that the trust is working on with its lands and easements.
